PhosCo's Gasaat Phosphate Project in Tunisia has been named the focus of a US Government-funded programme led by CrossBoundary Group. The programme aims to attract private American capital, pursue long-term offtake and evaluate by-product recovery, though PhosCo says no party has committed funding or product and no binding transactions have occurred.
Phosphate supply diversification could eventually ease fertiliser tightness for feed and grain producers, but the project is at an early, non-binding stage with no near-term effect on phosphate prices.
