Brazilian soybean prices closed the week mostly higher, supported by the dollar strengthening toward R$5.50, even as Chicago futures kept losing ground. Physical soybean prices rose by about R$1 per 60 kg bag in several Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Mato Grosso and Goiás locations, while trading volumes stayed limited as farmers focused on planting.
A stronger dollar lifts the real-denominated price of soybeans for Brazilian sellers and offsets weakness in Chicago, which limits export competitiveness on the margin. The domestic price gain is modest and tied to currency moves rather than new supply or demand.
