The average dairy price rose 3 percent at the Global Dairy Trade auction to US$4166 a tonne, the second straight auction with a gain. Whole milk powder rose 5.9 percent to US$3971 a tonne, its highest since August 2025, while butter fell 4.7 percent to US$4503 a tonne.
Stronger whole milk and skim milk powder prices signal firmer global dairy demand and tighter export supply, while the butter decline reflects a cream supply glut. Higher milk powder prices can support milk prices and feed demand for dairy-linked feed ingredients.
