Corn, soybeans and Kansas City wheat closed at new lows for the move on Tuesday, November 3, with December corn down 5¾¢ to $4.42½ and January soybeans down 2¾¢ to $12.14. Live and feeder cattle also finished lower, while lean hogs rose.
USDA announced three flash sales: 315,000 MT of corn to Mexico, 136,000 MT of corn to South Korea and 134,000 MT of soybeans to unknown destinations.
Flash sales show continued export demand, but buying interest remains thin and traders are positioning ahead of the November WASDE for possible yield changes. Grain prices are drifting lower, and the cattle decline points to softer feeder and fed cattle costs for feed buyers.
