December Nymex natural gas closed up 1.37% on Tuesday as US lower-48 dry gas production fell to a 9-month low of 109.2 bcf/day. Prices had hit a 6.25-month low the previous Monday on warm autumn weather and storage builds.
Producer curtailments tighten the outlook for storage ahead of winter, but forecasts of above-normal temperatures through mid-November keep heating demand weak and cap gains. Natural gas costs feed into fertilizer and feed-processing expenses.
