Corn futures have dropped nearly 20% after more than $1 of decline, driven by fund liquidation from a record net long position. The selloff followed USDA grain stocks and October WASDE yield reports that came in above expectations, along with a rising dollar and harvest pressure.
Lower corn futures reduce feed grain costs for buyers, and prices may be nearing a floor as harvest winds down and end users buy more aggressively. Downside could continue if liquidation persists and yields stay high.
