Vietnam's VN-Index fell more than 11 points to 1,699, its fourth straight session of losses, and dropped back below the 1,700 level. Construction-materials stocks rose against the trend, with steel makers HPG, HSG and NKG gaining 3-4%, and foreign investors bought hundreds of billions of dong of Hoa Phat (HPG).
Hoa Phat reported Q3 hot-rolled coil sales above 2 million tonnes, up 8% from the previous quarter and 64% year on year.
This is a domestic Vietnamese equity market report with no direct link to feed-grain or oilseed supply, demand or prices. Strong steel sales point to construction and industrial demand in Vietnam, which has little bearing on animal-feed commodity markets.
