Meatco restarted limited slaughter on 27 and 28 October, using cattle from its own feedlot after a 30-day quarantine, and sold the beef domestically. Savanna Beef Processors stopped all processing and sent about 240 workers on leave amid a foot-and-mouth disease outbreak in Namibia's FMD-free zone.
