USDA's Export Sales database confirmed it shows no 2025/26 or 2026/27 corn originally reported to unknown destinations later switched to China. Census and GATS records show 32,569 metric tons exported to China from January through August 2026, while USDA inspections account for only 3,232 metric tons, leaving about 29,337 metric tons unmatched.
The gap reflects reporting discrepancies rather than a real return of China as a major U.S. corn buyer, so it does little to change supply-demand expectations. The total volume is roughly 1.28 million bushels, too small to move corn prices.
After 768 past neutral report events, CORN moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (54% higher; middle half -1.1% to +1.6%), and +0.7% over 20.
