Euronext wheat rebounded toward €230/t on Tuesday after failing to hold gains at the prior close, weighed by weak US port activity and a rebound in the euro against the dollar. Early USDA winter wheat ratings came in below expectations, with 44% of crops rated good to excellent, while the corn harvest was 74% complete as of November 1 against a five-year average of 77%.
Euronext corn traded slightly lower.
A firmer euro trims French export competitiveness, while below-expected US winter wheat conditions and Black Sea strikes support wheat prices. Corn prices remain under mild pressure from a steady harvest pace.
