A group of 20 livestock and aquaculture associations has again asked Thai Commerce Minister Supajee to convene the corn policy committee urgently, after two earlier letters in August and October went unanswered. They cite El Niño floods that delayed harvesting and damaged corn in some areas, pushing prices about 2 baht per kg above the official benchmark.
Thailand's 2026 imports were down 15-20%, with the US zero-tariff quota only partly used.
Delayed import decisions leave feed mills unable to plan purchases, which keeps domestic corn expensive and tight. Any loosening of the import ratio would add supply and could cap local prices.
After 318 past bullish policy events, CORN moved a median -0.1% over 5 sessions (48% higher; middle half -1.4% to +1.5%), and -0.2% over 20.
