Ukrainian sunflower seed EXW prices fell UAH 750 to UAH 15,000/t (USD 330.90/t) in the week of October 23-30 and have halved over three months. Trading is subdued, and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy expects crop profitability to be close to zero by end-2026.
Near-breakeven prices are limiting farmer selling and raising the risk that part of the crop stays unharvested, with crop estimates differing by over 3 million tonnes. This adds uncertainty to sunflower meal and oil supply from the Black Sea.
