Wheat futures fell sharply in October, with December Chicago SRW down about 14%, Kansas City HRW down 14.9% and Minneapolis spring wheat down 13.4%, while Euronext soft wheat dropped 5.8%. US wheat exports for October 22-29 fell 41.3% week on week to 75.4 thousand tons, and Ukraine and Russia shipped less wheat than a year earlier in October.
Weak export demand and better weather in Australia, Argentina and Europe outweighed Black Sea port disruptions, pushing wheat prices toward early-season levels. Lower world prices add pressure on Ukrainian domestic grain prices and keep feed wheat competitively priced for buyers.
