Gold prices in Egypt fell about 180 pounds per gram since the end of October, with 21-karat gold dropping to 6,120 pounds from about 6,300 pounds the previous Friday. The decline was attributed to weaker local and global demand and pressure from the dollar and the global ounce price.
Gold is not a feed commodity, so the drop has little direct effect on feed buyers. It signals softer household demand and currency-driven moves in Egypt's broader financial conditions.
