Turkey's October consumer prices rose 2.58% month on month, with annual inflation at 29.77%, and producer prices rose 1.65% month on month. Following the stronger-than-expected CPI print, Borsa Istanbul sales accelerated and the BIST 30 and BIST 100 indices fell more than 1%.
The hot inflation print increases the chance that Turkey's central bank will hold rates higher for longer, which supports the lira and reduces pressure on import costs. The direct effect on feed commodities is minimal.
