Foodrise published a briefing saying 17% of EU fishery landings in 2023, over 600,000 tonnes, went into fishmeal and fish oil. Most of the EU's exported fishmeal and fish oil goes to Norway and the UK for salmon farming.
The group presented its findings to the European Parliament.
