January soybeans closed down 17.5 cents at US$12.1675 per bushel, while December corn ended up half a cent and December CBOT wheat rose 3 cents. The Crop Progress report showed corn harvest 74% complete and soybean harvest 88% complete.
Lean hogs fell to contract lows, and the CME Lean Hog Index dropped to 66.57, its lowest since January 2024.
Soybeans are trading toward US$12 under harvest pressure and technical selling, which lowers the cost of soybean meal inputs. Weak hog prices reduce the appetite for feed among pork producers.
