Peruvian super fishmeal spot prices reached 25,700-26,500 yuan/tonne, a new record, after Peru cancelled its second anchovy season for 2026. National port fishmeal inventories fell to 113,800 tonnes.
Meanwhile, listed hog producers reported continued losses as pig prices declined.
Peru's season cancellation removes a large share of global fishmeal supply, which keeps fishmeal expensive and pushes feed makers toward substitutes such as soybean meal. Lower hog prices, however, weaken demand for premium feed inputs.
