Manitoba announced a $5 million loan to the Potash and Agri Development Corporation of Manitoba, Manitoba's only potash mine, to expand production. The company plans to mine at least 22,000 tonnes this winter and add a new well pairing in December, with a further $5 million sought from private investors.
The expansion is small relative to global potash supply, so the price impact is minimal, though it adds Canadian output that could feed Port of Churchill export logistics.
