Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Mikalai Snapkou said the Nyazhynsky mining and processing plant will reach its design capacity of 2 million tonnes of potash fertiliser per year by 31 December 2027. He estimated that export revenue from 2 million tonnes at current prices would add roughly $500-600 million to the country's currency reserves.
Currently the plant can produce 1 million tonnes per year, with remaining insulation and anti-corrosion work underway.
Additional Belarusian potash capacity adds to global potash supply over the medium term, a bearish factor for potash prices and fertiliser costs for feed grain producers, though the ramp-up is gradual and sanctions limit export routes.
