The average European raw milk price at real fat and protein content rose by 10 euros per tonne between July and August 2026, to 427.5 euros/t, according to the European Commission's milk market observatory. It is still 105 euros/t below August 2025.
The Commission expects a further rise of about 4 euros for September, partly driven by higher dairy protein prices.
A firmer European milk price suggests dairy margins are recovering after a long decline, which can support dairy herd sizes and demand for feed. The effect on feed-ingredient prices is modest.
