Chile's state agencies and forest certification body PEFC Chile are adjusting standards to meet the EU Deforestation Regulation, which applies to medium and large companies from 30 December. The rules cover Chilean exports of wood and cattle, and officials say producers have been supported for more than a year.
Compliance costs and traceability requirements apply to Chilean beef and wood exports to the EU. The impact on global feed commodity prices is minimal.
