Aminosib, a plant of the Yubileyny agroholding in the Tyumen region, has started commissioning its own ammonia water production unit. The plant's ammonia water share of lysine costs is expected to fall from 10% to 6%.
Aminosib produces 35,000 tonnes of lysine a year, about 35% of the Russian market.
Lower production costs for a major Russian lysine producer could allow more competitive pricing and reduce import dependence. The effect is modest because the cost saving is a few percentage points.
