Mysteel data show that as of 30 October, theoretical profits in China's amino acid industry were negative. Lysine losses were reported at 296 to 1,171 yuan per tonne across the 70% and 98% grades in Northeast China and Shandong.
Losses at this level can lead producers to cut output, which would tighten lysine supply and support prices over time. The immediate price effect is limited.
