Iranian producers kept their offer price for granular urea at $355/t while the global average rose $9.5 to $351/t and the Middle East average fell $5 to $435/t. Gas shortages and technical faults have left part of Iran's urea capacity offline, with some complexes running at about half capacity.
Reduced Iranian output tightens export supply at a time when the global average is firming, which supports urea prices. The gap between Iranian and global prices has narrowed, so the effect on the market is modest.
