Peru began implementing the protocol upgrading the Peru-China Free Trade Agreement on 1 November. The revised deal updates seven chapters and adds five new ones covering competition, e-commerce, supply chains, conformity assessment, and the environment.
China is Peru's largest trading partner, at about 35% of total trade.
The upgrade mainly changes rules and procedures rather than tariffs, which are already largely eliminated. It may ease trade flows, but its near-term effect on feed commodity prices is limited.
