The won-dollar rate has repeatedly fallen during daytime Seoul trading and risen overnight since 24-hour FX trading began in July. The pattern is linked to Korean chipmakers selling export dollars for won from 9 a.m.
The rate started the week at 1,342 won and finished the session at 1,339.5 won.
The pattern describes intraday FX flows and does not change the outlook for feed supply or demand. It only affects the timing of won costs for Korean importers.
