The Japanese yen weakened in Asian trade on Monday to an 8-day low of 176.66 per euro, a 2-week low of 211.65 per pound and a 4-day low of 157.99 per U.S. dollar. It also edged lower against the Swiss franc.
A weaker yen against the dollar makes dollar-priced feed and grain imports costlier for Japanese buyers, which can weigh on their demand at the margin. The move is small and routine, so its effect on feed prices is limited.
