Ethanol industry members at a Fargo roundtable said consumers could save on gasoline if Congress lifted the restriction on summer E15 sales. The U.S. House has passed a bill allowing year-round sales of gasoline with 15% ethanol, while current rules bar summer sales except under an EPA waiver.
Year-round E15 would expand ethanol demand for corn, which supports corn prices if the bill becomes law. The change would take effect only once Congress acts.
After 318 past bullish policy events, Corn moved a median -0.1% over 5 sessions (48% higher; middle half -1.4% to +1.5%), and -0.2% over 20.
