Potash producers' average realized prices fell about 40% in Q3 2016 versus Q3 2015. Intrepid, PotashCorp, Mosaic, Agrium and ICL all reported lower per-tonne prices, with excess supply and weak demand cited as causes.
Lower realized potash prices reflect oversupply and customers drawing down inventories, a headwind for fertilizer producers. For feed buyers, the report confirms that potash input costs remain low.
