A study tested graded levels of digestible lysine in female turkeys across starter, grower and finisher phases to check whether breeder guidelines are adequate. Average daily gain, feed efficiency and carcass yield improved with lysine levels, and the study estimated requirement levels from the response curves.
This is a nutrition research finding that may refine lysine inclusion rates in turkey feed over time, but it has no immediate effect on lysine or feed grain prices.
