The rand paused its rally on Wednesday and traded sideways ahead of South Africa's October inflation data. It had risen more than 2.5% since Monday on improved global risk appetite and higher commodity prices.
The Reserve Bank was widely expected to hold its repo rate at 7% the next day.
Trading was range-bound and driven by data flow, so the move carries little direct price signal for feed. Stable rand levels keep import costs for dollar-priced feed ingredients steady.
