The Texas cattle update reports steady Texas feeder auction prices and November feeder futures up $4.32 at $126.17/cwt. Choice boxed beef rose to $185.53 and weekly harvest was 231,000 head, up 4.6 percent year-to-date.
Dry conditions continued in parts of the Upper Coast and Southeast Texas.
Firmer boxed beef and futures support cattle values, while dryness in parts of Texas could limit grazing and push cattle to market. Routine price moves do not signal a new supply shock.
