Dow AgroSciences has developed ProPound, a high-protein canola meal with protein content comparable to soybean meal and improved digestibility and lower fibre than standard canola meal. The product is positioned for poultry and swine diets.
If ProPound is cost-effective, it could expand canola meal's share in monogastric rations, modestly competing with soybean meal and supporting canola meal demand over time.
