A Chinese importer delegation toured Kansas sorghum farms, an ethanol plant and export terminals as part of a U.S. Grains Council promotion. The importers said China will pay a premium for high-quality sorghum, and Kansas exported over 75% of its 2014-15 sorghum crop, mostly to China.
The visit is a promotional event that reinforces existing Chinese demand for U.S. sorghum. It has little direct price impact beyond supporting ongoing export interest.
