Peru's central bank plans to cut the marginal reserve requirement on dollar deposits from 70% to 48% next month, the lowest in over six years. It also trims the sol-deposit requirement from 6.5% to 6%.
The measures should inject about 300 million soles ($89 million) into the financial system.
Lower reserve requirements free bank liquidity for lending, which can support Peruvian credit demand, mainly in a financial sector context with little direct feed-grain impact. The effect on feed commodity prices is negligible.
