The National Fisheries Society (SNP) forecasts the second anchovy season in north-central Peru will generate about USD 900 million in fishery exports. Pacific anchovy catches were 430,000 tonnes in November, with an estimated 800,000 tonnes in December, well above the same months of 2015.
Stronger catch volumes point to more fishmeal and fish oil supply, which is bearish for fishmeal prices.
