Nine European countries reported new HPAI poultry outbreaks to the OIE in the past week. England confirmed H5N8 at a Lincolnshire turkey farm, and Hungary reported 63 more outbreaks affecting over 377,000 birds, bringing its total losses to about 1.33 million.
Outbreaks in South Korea, Japan, Iran and Nigeria were also reported.
Losses of over a million birds in Hungary and new cases in England reduce European poultry supply and may lift chicken prices. They also cut local demand for feed grains and meal, which can add pressure in those markets.
