Linde Gas Singapore signed a long-term contract to supply methane and hydrogen to Evonik's second world-scale methionine complex, Me6, in Singapore. Linde will build and run an integrated gas plant, and the complex is expected to start operations in 2019.
This is an industrial gas supply deal for future methionine capacity, with no near-term effect on supply or price. It signals expanding methionine production in Asia later in the decade.
