India reported an H5N1 poultry outbreak in Gujarat that killed 25 of 191 birds, and Niger reported H5N1 on a household farm. Slovakia and Ukraine reported more H5N8 in wild swans, and Chile reported a second low-pathogenic H7 outbreak in turkeys in the Valparaiso region, where about 35,000 more birds were targeted for culling.
Small farm-level outbreaks and culls add to a steady background of poultry disease, which has little measurable effect on global feed or chicken prices.
