The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service released county-level estimates for 2016 row crops, including sunflower, corn and soybeans, based on farmer surveys from last fall. County figures for canola and flaxseed follow in March, and pulses and hay in April.
The National Sunflower Association also reported a $258,000 research funding package for 2017.
The county data mainly updates the production baseline for sunflower and row crops, with little direct effect on feed prices. Sunflower meal supply is affected only marginally by these figures.
