The FDA announced on February 3, 2017 that Evanger's recalled five lots of canned Hunk of Beef dog food over pentobarbital contamination. One dog died and others were sickened, and the company blamed its beef supplier.
This is a pet food safety recall with no meaningful effect on feed ingredient supply or prices. It does not move livestock or feed commodity markets.
