SARVAL, a UK protein ingredient supplier, says it has invested in technology to reduce the ash-to-protein ratio in its pet food protein products. It is building a Nottingham plant to process over 3,000 tonnes of poultry weekly, with lines due in September 2017.
Lower-ash rendered proteins may gain share in pet food, a modest shift in demand for poultry by-product meal. The effect on feed grain or meal prices is minimal.
