Biodiesel trading was quiet in the Double-counting market, with about 25 to 30 KT traded as UCOME prices fell to €1,020-1,025/MT in the ARA region for February and March delivery. US imports of biodiesel from Argentina were about 150 KT in January, more than five times the prior year, after the blender's tax credit expired on December 31.
Lower European UCOME prices and strong US import pull signal competing biodiesel flows that affect soybean oil demand. Producers being sold out for near-term delivery suggests the price low may be near.
