Shandong Wantong Petrochemical awarded Honeywell UOP a contract to supply its HYT-6219 hydrotreating catalyst for ULSD production at its 6.5 million-tonne/year refinery in Dongying, Shandong. The catalyst is already in use and has let the refinery reach its lowest sulfur levels on record without equipment modifications.
This is a single refinery technology contract with little direct effect on crude or diesel supply and demand. It has no meaningful bearing on feed ingredient prices.
