Grain Millers Inc. has begun phase two of a previously announced expansion at its Yorkton, Saskatchewan oat plant, costing about $100 million in total. The expansion will add 80,000 tonnes of annual oat product capacity, with completion expected late next year.
Added milling capacity will increase processing demand for Canadian milling oats once online, which is supportive for oat prices over the medium term.
After 40 past bullish trade events, Oats moved a median -0.6% over 5 sessions (40% higher; middle half -2.8% to +1.7%), and -3.2% over 20.
