California's Air Resources Board approved 12 new biodiesel and renewable diesel pathways under the Low Carbon Fuel Standard. The approvals cover producers in Texas, Arkansas, Iowa and Louisiana using feedstocks including tallow, soy oil, used cooking oil and distillers corn oil.
More approved pathways let producers earn LCFS credits, supporting renewable diesel output and demand for fats and oils. The effect on prices is incremental.
After 842 past bullish policy events, Soybean Oil moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (52% higher; middle half -1.6% to +2.1%), and -0.5% over 20.
