Grain Millers announced a $100 million expansion of its Yorkton, Saskatchewan oat mill that will add 80,000 tonnes of capacity, doubling it to 160,000 tonnes. The plant is expected to be operational around 2018 and could make the company the world's largest oat miller.
Higher milling demand for Canadian oats should support oat prices and procurement in Western Canada over the coming years.
