Chinese domestic lysine prices held stable but trading was thin on March 30, with 98.5% lysine quoted at 8.5-9.0 yuan/kg and 70% lysine at about 4.7-5.5 yuan/kg. Southeast Asian ammonia producers suspended production after equipment failures, with restart expected in about a month.
Chinese live pig prices also edged lower.
The Southeast Asian ammonia outage is expected to tighten lysine supply in that region, with little effect on China, and may support Chinese lysine exports. Weak domestic demand and loose dealer quotes leave prices near term rangebound.
