Tibet's first human H7N9 case, a 41-year-old migrant worker who handled live poultry, appears to have been locally acquired. Five countries reported more highly pathogenic avian flu outbreaks, including H5N1 in Nigeria and Vietnam, H5N8 in Europe and H5N2 in Taiwan.
Ongoing H7N9 activity in China and multiple HPAI outbreaks add pressure on poultry production and could reduce chicken feed demand in affected regions.
